Type Rating Instructor or Synthetic Flight Instructor endorsment Renewal or Revalidation

The purpose of this training is to revalidate or renew applicant’s TRI/SFI certificates.

Requirements:

Hold a TRI/SFI certificate or have held a TRI/SFI certificate which has lapsed

Hold a valid Class 1 medical certificate (only for TRI holders)

Hold at least English Proficiency level 4.

Course content:

The refresher training for revalidation of the TRI/SFI certificates is provided as a seminar. The seminar consist of 6 hours of learning and may be held in the form of either one or more of the following: e-learning, two-way online meetings, face-to-face seminars. The content of the refresher seminar for revalidation will be selected from the following items:

The role of the instructor

Teaching and learning styles

4.

Observational skills

5.

Instructional techniques

6.

Briefing and debriefing skills

7.

TEM

8.

Human performance and limitations

9.

Flight safety, prevention of incidents and accidents, including those specific to the AirService ATO

10.

Significant changes in the content of the relevant part of the aviation system

11.

Legall aspects and enforcement procedures

12.

Developments in competency-based instruction

13.

Report writing

14.

Any additional topics proposed by the competent authority. Individual approach and the time scale are used to determine training needs of the applicants for renewal of TRI/SFI certificates. Each applicant for renewal of TRI/SFI certificates will receive individual program and instructors’ support during training
